Jade is a smooth, durable gemstone that appears in a wide range of greens and soft neutrals, sometimes enhanced through gentle dyeing to achieve more even or vibrant color. It has a Mohs hardness of about 6–7 — meaning it holds up well for everyday wear and resists most light scratches. As jade forms, it develops natural differences in color, translucency, and texture, and even color-enhanced pieces show slight variations from bead to bead. Those differences give every jade design its own distinct look.
